Everything is settling down a bit here 8g88 now that Katrina is back in town which means I can play more poker. And it’s off to a good start; so here is a little brag post š but I also add useful information on playing for $1 million in prize money basically for free.
To start with I played 4 tournaments and cashed in 3 including a win in the Sunday Million satellite on! and a deep cash in the $1 Million Turbo Takedown on Sunday as well. This $1 million guaranteed tournament is a great deal for players. Its basically a freeroll as the only cost is 5,000 FPPs. Its also one of the rare freerolls that you will see me play but what a value! I donāt know of anywhere else where you can play for $1 million in prize money with no dollar buy-in and PokerStars.com! is now doing this tournament once a month. Its a great way to earn some serious money for your bankroll.
So here is how it works. The $1 Million PokerStars Turbo Takedown runs at 14:30 ET (2:30 PM EST) on the last Sunday of every month. This no-limit holdāem event has a $1 Million guarantee as I wrote and its not to difficult to cash as 1 in 3 gets paid!
So how do you play in it? Just download Poker Stars here if you donāt already have an account. Next enter apipoker.com when registering. Right now they are running a 2x promotion where once you download the software and register then go to the cashier tab to make your first deposit and enter āFirst2xā in the promotion code when depositing and you receive access to their twice daily $2,222 First Depositor Freerolls and if you do well there you advance to the $22,222 Final on July 31st so I would sign up now to take advantage of this first deposit promotion.
Next or if you already have an account just start to accumulate FPP which are called Frequent Player Points by playing in tournaments, SNGās or ring games. The next $1 Million Guarantee Turbo Takedown will take place the last Sunday in August so you have plenty of time to get your FPPās. You can sign up for the tournament once you have 5,000 FPP or win your way in via a satellite. Here are the details as written on Poker Stars web site:
* Register directly with 5,000 Frequent Player Points for the $1 Million Turbo Takedown main event. Simply click āEVENTSā and āSPECIALā in the PokerStars game lobby
* Or view the list of satellite tournaments for the $1 Million Turbo Takedown main event and register to play in one of these to win your 5,000 FPP buy-in. You can play in a satellite for as little as 10 FPP credits. Simply go to the PokerStars lobby and click āEVENTSā, then āSPECIALā and āFPP SATELLITESā.
So for as little as 10 FPP you can possibly play for $ 1million in prize money! By the way earning FPP on Poker Stars is not difficult you can earn Frequent Player Points very quickly once you begin but donāt spend all of your poker time online as we want to see you at live API tournaments too!
Remember we are putting our next Team API together for Las Vegas so get out to the Free live API nightly tournaments and earn your points to play in the American Poker Leaderboard Invitationals to earn your spot on the team and a sponsorship to the 2009 WSOP!
I hope this information benefits you and I look forward to seeing you at the tables.
New American Poker shirts
My Internet has been out since the storms here. Bellsouth keeps saying they will have our area back up so finally having a friend who works there come out today. Limited access to email is ruff!
I did manage to post an image of new American Poker t-shirts at www.apiplayers.com so check it out and let me know what you think of them.
Posting the Las Vegas Pictures
Ok I have been working on getting some of the Las Vegas pictures up on our main site this afternoon and evening. Its proven to be more work then expected since our backend of the site is written in different programming languages than what I am use to. Anyway I have been able to upload some pictures to our American Poker Players Social Network site and then place a slide show from our American Poker Players site on our Tournament page. Now I am going to go add some more pictures to the Las Vegas album so I can have them show on the American Poker Invitational Tournament Page. So its taking much longer then I expected and there is probably a easier way to place a slide show on all of our sites but for tonight this how I am getting the pictures posted. I still need to give Eric, Mike S, Mike P and Dale a CD of the pics we took. Anyway at the same time Iāll probably make some much needed updates to our main site tonight and tomorrow.
